My husband LOVES chocolate cake, but i usually won't touch one that I didn't personally make with real cocoa, real butter and all natural sugar and vanilla. So when I read that H&D uses those (real) ingredients to make their chocolate birthday cake, I thought I'd give it a try. We cut into it when it was still a little cold, and the texture was quite dense and super rich in flavor. It seemed more like a brownie cake. BUT after letting the cake reach room temperature, the texture lightens a little, is super moist and a delicious chocolate flavor with buttery chocolate frosting--absolutely yummy--better than I could have baked myself. The cake is also a nice size to easily serve 10 people hearty slices.

This was my daughter's first birthday away at college. We were looking for an amazing birthday cake for her to enjoy and share with her friends. They absolutely LOVED it! She even texted me the next day to ask what I thought was in the cake. She and her friends were trying to figure out what made it so good. I will definitely send her this cake every year while she's at college.

My daughter gave this cake to me for Birthday! I hope I get one every year. This is the most delicious cake I think I have ever tasted and the box, and packaging was perfect. The company sure had the customer in mind. I like that,I also liked that it had ice packs inside to keep the cake just as if it was refrigerated until it was delivered. This cake was amazing. It was in the freezer for a few weeks because I was on the go as my birthday fell around Thanksgiving. Took it out this week and it was so moist and fresh... Tasted like someone just baked it. I would definitely recommend this decedent, rich chocolate cake for any chocolate lover! Definitely a great pick! Any recipient would be lucky to receive one of these for any occasion!

I sent this to my Grandson in University for his 18th. B-day. He said all his friends there loved it. So did his Dad who flew in to be with him and his Cuz that attends the same school.
I think a vanilla frosting would have been a great idea too, so much chocolate can be overwhelming.

I received this cake for my birthday. It is probably the best chocolate cake I have ever had. It is so rich, incredible chocolate flavor, best filling and icing. I could not have bought better at a bakery. I never review anything, but this cake deserved a great review! anyone would LOVE it.
