The mother in law of the receipient couldn't believe the amount of lobster in the pie. She enjoyed it more than who the pie was intended for. She was from out of state and she thought it was the best lobster pie she ever had. The receipient was very pleased with the gift but more amused as how well the mother in law enjoyed it. It was a well received gift and I would send it again to someone very special.

If you think pot pie is just a homey meal for cold winter days - you haven't had Lobster Pot Pie!! Rich creamy sauce, chunks of sweet lobster, chunks of red potatoes (skin on), and a full crust that is flaky & buttery. Moves dinner to a whole other level. this is a must try at least once - and then you will be hooked! top quality as you would expect nothing less from Harry & David.

I have baked and served four of the lobster pot pies within the last six months. Inconsistent quality (variance in amounts of, and the sizes of, lobster pieces as well as the ratio of all ingredients to each other) AND inconsistent taste are the basis for my poor rating. Lobster ranged from chunks of lobster in one pie to tiny, stringy shreds of lobster in another. Funny thing is, the pie with almost no lobster had the best flavor in the sauce. The distribution of filling in most pies was "uneven" as many slices were primarily potato with just a smattering of corn niblets and small lobster pieces. The sherry cream sauce in one pie was excellent, but the other sauces in the other pies were boring, tasteless and starchy. The seasonings in the other pies was not remotely the same as in the first pie which had excellent flavor and most ingredients were proportionately distributed -except this was the pie with virtually no lobster! All the potato, the starchy white sauce, and the thick crust on top and bottom made for heavy, unsatisfying meals. The crust on its own is very good tasting - all four pies had very good tasting crusts. The "starchiness" of the fillings (potatoes, corn, white sauce) do not compliment the good tasting crust.
