We have bought Harry & David's Royal Riviera pears for years both to enjoy ourselves and to give as gifts. We and the gift recipients have raved about the taste and quality of the pears. In the past we have bought the pears late in the year for our use and as Christmas gifts. However, we recently [February 2012] bought a box for ourselves and one as a gift. We noticed that these pears were not a tasty as usual and didn't understand why. They also took much longer to ripen. Then i noticed on the box that these pears were grown in Chile. We buy fruit from Chile on occasion so we have nothing against the country or its produce. However, be aware that if you buy Royal Riviera pears after the U.S. growing season is over you may be getting a genetically identical pear but one that is of lower quality than those grown in the U.S.

These pears are soooo sweet and juicy, had to use a napkin every time I took a bite. I've never eaten pears that are so tasty and juicy as yours. They are so big that one makes a whole meal for me! No graininess what so ever. I've been enjoying your fruits for 20 years when my son first sent me a box of pears. Nowdays I order my own with the gift card he sends me. He lives in Medford, OR. I don't.

I had ordered my mother another one of your AWESOME products, for the week of Mothers Day, just for a "happy". When she received the "happy", she cried, due to the message, that I was able to display on the gift. The pears were AWESOME...so...I turned around, and ordered...MYSELF a box of pears... They...are...ABSOLUTELY the most DELICIOUS pears, I have ever eaten, and the packaging is as beautiful, as the pears are delicious... I will, SURELY be ordering again... I bought a box of pears for my Mom for Mother's Day. They were the juciest and most delicious pears I've ever had. You needed to wear a bib to eat them. I would definitely recommend them as a gift for any occasion, personal or business. Even my picky teenagers thought that they were great and my Mother was extremely pleased with her gift.

I ordered the box of pears very close to Mother's Day. I wasn't expecting them to arrive until the Wednesday after Mother's Day but we got a big surprise, they arrived on Saturday the day before Mother's Day. I was shocked! Needless to say, they were gobbled up very quickly. I'm very pleased with the ease of the online ordering, how quickly the product arrived and the quality of the pears. I'll be ordering more for certain, not only as a gift to another but as a gift to myself. Loved Them!

I took advantage of your offer for Mother's Day. I had 4 mother, wife and married daughters to buy for. As I ordered, I was told that to save significant shipping cost, I could buy two boxes of nine pears each and just get charged one shipping. When I received the boxes, there were only 6 in each box. When I called to get an explanation, I was told that it was sold by weight not by number. This is very misleading as I would expect the order to look like the picture on the website. We enjoy the prayers but I did not appreciate being misled and the awkwardness of not all my people getting their gift on time.

I receive these as a part of a gift package for Christmas and while my Mom was visiting from Iowa (I'm in AZ). She loved them so I sent them for Mother's Day along with flowers (which arrived the day after the pears). Her comment - "I thought I was in Heaven when I opened the pears. They were a touch green yet, but I ate a whole one anyway. They are SO delicious." She called again when she got the flowers but was still raving about the pears. "The flowers are beautiful but I really prefer the PEARS!!!". What a hit - score one for the daughter!!
