Comments about Harry & David 80th Anniversary Grand Fruitcake Confection:

I order this confection every year along with the traditional fruit-cake. It's my family's favorite because we love all the candied fruit and just enough cake to blend in. It's perfectly made with, in my opinion, the finest candied fruits I have ever tasted. For the quality it is priced right.

Comments about Harry & David 80th Anniversary Grand Fruitcake Confection:

I only treat myself to this once every few years because it is expensive. It's the only fruit cake I'd consider tasting. I order the largest one so it lasts longer. I try to have a small piece every day. I keep it refrigerated. I don't think I would share with a family gathering for fear someone would waste it. It's mine. My husband gets some. Anyway if you don't like fruitcake this is for you. The fruit(uncake). Just barely enough "cake" to hold it together. So good! And, none of that awful horrible green stuff.

Looks as beautiful as it tastes! Moist candied fruit and nuts.but not like a fruit cake. Everyone who has tried it loves it. This was shaped like a round single layer cake. Bright red cherries and golden pieces of candied pineapple make it very pretty.

Use as a gift, at home,to party as looks great and is easy to serve. There aren't enough positive words to describe this fruitcake. We were pleasantly surprised that it wasn't overly sweet and will send as gifts next Christmas. Already sent one as gift for relative with January birthday. Thank you H & D for making such a confection!

Received one as a Christmas gift. Don't particularly like fruitcake. Your's is different. The emphasis is on fruit and nuts. Not cake. I have a dentist appointment today and will give it to him then. I can just about guarantee he will be placing an order. If you made them smaller, or cut the 1 pounder into quarters or sixths and sold them as samplers at an introductory price, your repeat orders would skyrocket. Right now, they will only go to my closest friends. Well done.

How does the Fruitcake Confection differ from a traditional fruitcake?

                    A:

Our amazing Fruit Cake Confection is made from our original 1947 recipe; loaded with plenty of premium whole cherries, sweet golden pineapple, crisp English walnuts and Southern pecans. They are made in small individual batches, folded in with just enough light golden batter to hold it all together for easy slicing. Our Traditional Fruitcake on the other hand, features that great old-fashioned flavor. Our recipe produces moist and spicy fruitcake because we make it with generous scoops of raisins, walnuts, cherries and pineapple.

                • Q:

You state net weight of the Grand Fruitcake Confection is 2 lb 12 oz. Is this the weight of the confection itself, or does it include the weight of the commemorative container? (If it's the confection's weight, that's about a 20% discount from the per-ounce price of the 1 lb 8 oz confection - am I right?)
