Comments about Harry & David Hydrangea Plant Gift:

I am thrilled with this item! It shipped across the country (from CA to FL) ultra fast, and arrived in time for Mother's Day as promised. The plant is healthy and in full bloom. (Other flower companies warned their plants would come in bud form.). My mother loves that she can plant it and keep it forever! It is beautiful, unique, and high quality. We made the right choice with Harry and David. Any female will adore it! It's gorgeous!

    • Q:

My parents received one of these Hydrangeas as a gift and want to plant it in their garden. They say they didn't get instructions with the plant. We're wondering if it can take full sun. How can we get a copy of the instructions? The plant tag says "Hydrangea 'S-07-01'".

        A:

Dan, our Hydrangeas do best in bright yet indirect sunlight and in a location that does not get below 50 degrees F. They can be planted outside but care should be used to avoid exposure to frost and overexposure to sunlight. We have sent you a copy of the care instructions directly to your email address.

I live in Arlington Heights Illinois. When would be the best time to plant the hydrangea outside?
Asked on 4/17/2013 by Cathy from Arlington Heights, IL

      • Staff Reviewer

        A:

Hydrangeas prefer bright locations with indirect sunlight and temperatures about 60 degrees at night. If your region freezes at night, it would be best to maintain the plant indoors. The Hydrangea would likely flourish in the Spring and Summer months in Illinois.
