Honeycrisp apples have a more complicated history than other fruits. They were developed at the University of Minnesota in 1960. It wasn't until 1991 that they were released to be sold to the public. And everyone thought they would be a flop. Turns out, Honeycrisp apples are great. They are sweet and firm. Two things an apple should always be. They were created to retain pigment well, which is why they have such an amazing red color. And since they are so firm, they last a long time in your fridge before you eat them. With such a rich flavor, Honeycrisps are awesome for using in baking recipes or putting in fresh salads.

Comments about Harry and David Light Size Honeycrisp Apples:

I received these as a gift 2 years ago and they are hands down the best apples I have ever had. They are juicy, crisp, with just the right amount of sweetness. If you like apples you will love these.

    Get what they say

Comments about Harry and David Light Size Honeycrisp Apples:

The apples were very crisp just as they said. They were not as sweet as I had hoped but I did not eat all five of them. I was slightly dissapointed because I expected sweetness but that is not what was advertised. They were supposed to be crisp and that they were.

    Disappointment

    By Geraldine

    from Undisclosed

Comments about Harry and David Light Size Honeycrisp Apples:

The first apple was sweet and good but the others, and there were only five, were very nice but not worth the price. I would not order apples again at this time of year. If I order apples again, I would wait for the summer or fall and maybe they would be better. I was disappointed that they weren't as good as the pears which are always excellent. Wrong time of year, I guess.

Fruit is outstanding and fresh....so fresh, our dog grabbed the package that was left on our step and ate several honeycrisp apples. If you have outdoor pets, watch closely for your shipments,

        A:

Pete, the apples are a November fruit and as with all of our monthly fruits, they will ship when the harvest is ready. There is no typical timeframe for this, as it is entirely dependent on Mother Nature.
