I just bought this gift as a Mother's Day present and had it shipped this week. I chose this basket because the pears are her favorite. There were supposed to be 6 pears among the basket, but only 2 pears were actually in there. I think that the value for all items overall is good, and Harry&David products are wonderful, but such a pity that the best part was cut from her gift basket and I feel bad. Very disappointed!!!

I sent two of these to family members for Easter. They all loved the basket. My son in the army ate the entire jar of relish with the pepper crackers . My mom and dad loved the pears. And the honey crisp apples are wonderful.

I ordered this for my friend's 21st birthday, and she LOVED it. It's a great mix of savory, chocolate/sweets, and fruit (which you get to crave quite a bit in college), which is exactly why I purchased it. I really want to get one for myself now!! Once again, H&D impresses beyond belief!

Service and delivery comments:

Not only was delivery on time--it was half a week early! This was actually perfect because its normal delivery date would have been a week past my friend's birthday (not H&D's fault, I just procrastinated and didn't decide on what to get her until the night before...), so I was able to have it to her only a couple of days late. Made me feel much better :]

  Currently we are unable to customize our Gift Baskets and Towers. During the warm Summer months we do substitute our Bing Cherry Chocolates for Candy selections that are less temperature-sensitive. Beggining in early Fall these selections will revert back to our normal Chocolate items.

  That's a great question! Cheesemaking was originally developed as a way to "preserve" excess volume of milk before refrigeration was invented. The addition of pasteurization, which kills the harmful bacteria present in raw milk, added another level of preservation. That said, we do recommend that cheese be refrigerated to maintain its freshness as long as possible.
