I've only had the plum conserves so far, but I think they're more delicious than any food has a right to be! As the other reviewer pointed out, they don't contain chunks of whole fruit -- but it's real fruit in there, just cooked into a smooth paste. Great for spreading, and it means you get the same intense flavor in every drop. I wouldn't use these for PB&J sandwiches (where I prefer a chunkier consistency), but they're perfect on toast, and would be a great ingredient in sauces, marinades, etc. The flavor is tangy and robust, not ultra-sweet.

The preserves themselves were delicious. However, the jar was sealed so tightly that it took 3 people to open it. I bought two jars and both were too tightly sealed. The preserves were actually for my parents who are very old and they were upset they couldn't open the jars. Luckily I was still there and was able to help them open them. Not friendly jars for older folks with little to no strenth or finger grips left.

I have been a loyal Harry and David fan over the years. My father, especially, enjoyed the conserves spreads. So to brighten up his latest hospital stay I purchased some conserves for him as special treat. However, this purchase was very disappointing. In the strawberry rhubarb jar, there were NO strawberry pieces. I was shocked! There were only a few pieces of rhubarb in a product promoted as having 60% fruit. The remaining product was like a thickened syrup. This was so contrary to what I had purchased in the past. What has happened?? Sadly, this will be my last purchase from Harry and David. :(
