In 1910, Harry and David's dad Samuel bought Bear Creek Orchards of Medford, Oregon, in exchange for a hotel in Seattle. He used to say he traded a lemon for a pear. Pretty good deal, we think. The brothers sure made a name for themselves off those pears. And then they started adding yummy snacks to their pear gifts. Yummy snacks made from the finest ingredients. To this day, we make most of those snacks right here in our bakery and candy kitchens, surrounded by the Bear Creek orchards. Harry and David sure were inspired by those orchards, and so are we.

Not worth it

I bought this gift for my brother who is a huge fruit eater. I called him to see how everything was and he said the fruit was really not good. He loved everything else ...Read complete review

I bought this gift for my brother who is a huge fruit eater. I called him to see how everything was and he said the fruit was really not good. He loved everything else but the fruit was supposed to be the star of the package. The pears were really overly ripe and mushy and the apples were mealy and not good. This comes from "Mr. Apple" who literally eats at least 1-2 apples a day so I thought for sure he would love these. Not to thrilled and probably won't order from them again...at least not the fruit. Especially for the price you pay.

    My mother and aunt like the taste of everything, except they prefer nuts that are salty. They also said it was a great box, every time they picked something up there was another treat underneath.

    The last pears they received arrived perfectly ripe and they ate them right up. This time they were not ripe and as they were discussing how they might get them to ripen, they turned a card over that said "pears" on one side, and found directions for getting the pears to ripen. In the meantime they munched on the popcorn, candies, cookies, etc.

    Service and delivery comments:

    I sent it for Mother's Day and it arrived just a few days ahead for them to enjoy all weekend.

        I received this as an easter basket! It was (as usual) wonderful. The pears and apples were absolutely fabulous and the other snacks were favorites as well with me and my family. We LOVE getting the Harry & David packages any time of the year!

          This package had such a nice variety of goods. All the fruit was tasty and most importantly unblemished. It was packaged so well that nothing was bruised. I'm not a fan of pears but I ate every single one in the box....they were so juicy and sweet that I couldn't help but to enjoy every single one. My favorite in the package was the chocolate covered cherries. I know what a special treat they are so I really appreciated this gift even more. I really know how much my neighbors appreciated what I did for them over the winter when I "surprisingly" received this package for easter. THANK YOU NEIGHBOR!!!!

          My mom is someone who doesn't like nick-nack gifts for her birthday. She is someone who likes gifts that she can eat, drink, or burn! I typically get a nice candle for her birthday but decided a Harry and David gift basket would blow her away! AND IT DID! I keep getting emails every other day saying.... "I just ate the pears, they were so good!" "I had the crackers and cheese and it was fabulous!" Besides the incredible taste, the presentation was beautiful as well! I think I might be a Harry and David customer for a long time. It's worth the price to see someone you care about become so happy for receiving a fantastic gift!!!

              Harry and David products are of a superior quality. The selection is varied and all of the recipients, past and present, have loved their gifts. A Riviera pear is not an ordinary pear. The flavor is sweet,the texture is firm but jucy,and each morsel is to be savored. The smell has a wonderful bouquet.ENJOY!
