I sent this cake to my mother for Mother's Day. She lives in New Orleans and has access to the best food in the world; however, she absolutely loved this cake! As she was laughing, she told me how she and her friends couldn't stop eating the icing off of the sleeve that had been wrapped around the cake! She said they didn't want any of it to go to waste. She said it was "absolutely fantastic!"

My Mother sent this as an Easter gift. After defrosting in the refrigerator, I took it into work for an Easter party. Did not look like the picture. The strawberries on top looked like they were freeze dried. The cake was good. It was different. Never had this combination before. A few bites tasted like I was eating an ice cream sundae, but then a few bites were a bit too sour from the lemon filling. I would not order this for myself.

Looked pretty, looked tasty. Tasted wonderful. (a little dry, but not enough to throw away). I did not see the yellow and red layers in between. It was all one yellowish color. Which did not cause any taste problems. It was excellent. I will recommend this cake.

Prompt delivery. Packed with excellence. Arrived in excellent condition. The s/h cost was so much though. I would order many more if the s/h cost was not so high, or based on $ amount spent. Wrapped up nicely too. (each cake)

The way this cake is shipped (packed in ice blocks inside a styrofoam container) means it arrives in absolutely perfect condition. By using only quality, "real" ingredients, the flavor of this cake is a perfect blend of tart lemon, sweet strawberry and light (NOT heavy, greasy buttercream-like)icing. My husband, who normally doesn't eat cake at all, has already had three pieces of this one! The first cake is so delicious (and gorgeous!), that we have already ordered a second that we have stored in our freezer for later. It is worth noting that the second cake we purchased also arrived in absolutely perfect condition.

I often find lemon-flavored baked goods fall on the extreme ends of strength - either they blow your head off with the phony lemon flavor or it's so subtle you can't even taste it. This cake gets it absolutely right. The cake is delicious and so, so moist! The icing is so thick that I found the sweetness cloying after awhile so I just scraped some of that off, no big deal.

I had never ordered a cake online before and was a little nervous that it would be messed up somehow (i.e. arrive damaged, dry out quickly because of time in transport, etc.) but everything was perfect. It arrived on Friday (the party was on Saturday) and I put it in my sunporch (very cold this time of year) until Saturday afternoon. When I unpacked it, I was shocked to see the ice packs were still frozen solid. The cake was nicely packed up in a super sturdy ice chest so there was no damage of any kind. Very impressed.
