A busy family life and work life can leave less time for big breakfasts and leisurely lunches, so when my Harry & David Royal Riviera Pears arrive, I love to find creative ways to work them into an easy, filling meal that’s hearty and satisfying.

Royal Riviera Pears are incredibly versatile and are a juicy complement to so many toppings like prosciutto, cheese and honey. It was hard to narrow down my favorites, but these five Pear Toast recipes will definitely keep your taste buds happy!

Five Pear Toast Recipes

Honey Whipped Ricotta Pear Toast with Pecans and Thyme

Ingredients:

  • 2 slices sturdy white bread (toasted)
  • ½ cup ricotta cheese
  • 2 tablespoons honey
  • ½ Harry & David® Royal Riviera Pear (cored and thinly sliced)
  • 2 tablespoons chopped pecans
  • ½ teaspoon fresh thyme (chopped)

Instructions: 

  • Arrange the bread on a platter.
  • In a small bowl, beat the ricotta with the honey with a hand mixer until fluffy.
  • Divide the ricotta mixture in half and spread on top of the toast to coat.
  • Divide the pears and layer on top of the ricotta then sprinkle with the pecans and thyme.
  • Drizzle with more honey, if desired.

Pear Toast with Almond Butter, Granola and Honey

Ingredients:

  • 2 slices sturdy white bread (toasted)
  • ¼ cup almond butter
  • ½ Harry & David® Royal Riviera Pear (cored and thinly sliced)
  • ¼ cup granola
  • 1 tablespoon honey

Instructions: 

  • Arrange the toast on a platter.
  • Spread 1/2 the almond butter on one slice of toast and top with half the pear.
  • Repeat with remaining toast.
  • Sprinkle each slice with granola and drizzle with honey.
  • Serve immediately.

Gorgonzola Pear Toast with Prosciutto and Maple Syrup

Ingredients:

  • 2 slices sturdy white bread (toasted)
  • 4 ounces gorgonzola cheese
  • ½ Harry & David® Royal Riviera Pear (cored and thinly sliced)
  • 2 thin sliced prosciutto
  • 1 tablespoon maple syrup

Instructions: 

  • Arrange the toast on a platter.
  • Layer 2 ounces gorgonzola cheese, 1/2 the pear and 1 slice prosciutto on the toast.
  • Repeat with the remaining toast.
  • Drizzle with maple syrup and serve immediately.

Fig Pear Toast with Maple Whipped Cream Cheese and Pomegranate

Ingredients:

  • 2 slices sturdy white bread (toasted)
  • 4 ounces cream cheese (room temperature)
  • 1 ½ tablespoon maple syrup
  • ¼ teaspoon cinnamon
  • ½ Harry & David® Royal Riviera Pear (cored and thinly sliced)
  • 2 figs (thinly sliced)
  • ¼ cup pomegranate seeds

Instructions: 

  • Arrange the toast on a platter. In a small bowl, beat the cream cheese with 1 tablespoon maple syrup and cinnamon using a hand mixer until fluffy.
  • Spread half the cream cheese mixture over one slice of toast.
  • Top with 1/2 the pear, 1 fig and sprinkle with pomegranate seeds.
  • Repeat with remaining toast.
  • Drizzle with remaining maple syrup and serve immediately

Avocado Pear Toast Recipe with Feta, Almonds and Balsamic Glaze

Ingredients:

  • 2 slices sturdy white bread (toasted)
  • 1 avocado (mashed lightly with a fork)
  • ½ Harry & David® Royal Riviera Pear (cored and thinly sliced)
  • ¼ cup crumbled feta cheese
  • 2 tablespoons Marcona almonds
  • 1 tablespoon balsamic glaze

Instructions: 

  • Arrange the toast on a platter.
  • Spread one slice of toast with 1/2 the avocado.
  • Top with the pears then sprinkle with 1/2 the cheese and one tablespoon almonds.
  • Repeat with remaining toast and drizzle with the balsamic glaze. Serve immediately.
