Everyone has a birthday. You get a few gifts, may go out for a fancy dinner or drinks with friends, or treat yourself to a day of pampering. And then it’s over.  But wouldn’t it be awesome if the fun kept going and you celebrated with a gift every month of the year?

The gift that keeps on giving

If you’re looking to gift a friend or family member something they’ll remember, whether it’s for a birthday or the holidays or just because, skip the gift cards and fuzzy slippers. Even a 12-pack of scratch tickets are so passé. It’s time to step up your gift-giving game. Aunt Linda deserves some fresh thinking.

How about fresh fruit?

Way back in 1936, what started as our original Fruit of the Month Club® Collection, became a revolutionary piece of Harry & David’s history. The idea was simple: a customer would receive a new box of fresh fruit every month for up to a year. Of course, they included our legendary Royal Riviera® Pears, as well as more exotic fruits for their time, like papayas and kiwis.

Our experts chose the best month to send each type of fruit so it would arrive in its prime. Today, we work with small growers who tend their fruit with the same level of care as we do here in Southern Oregon to ensure customers receive the highest quality month after month.

Fruit-of-the-Month Clubs make great gifts. Over the years, we’ve expanded our line of Clubs to cater to a variety of fruit fans. For the citrus lover, there’s a Club that delivers only citrus. It includes the juiciest and sweetest oranges, such as HoneyBells and Mandarins. For big families, a Signature Classic Club includes everyone’s favorites, from strawberries in May to Plump-Sweet Cherries in July. And for smaller households, the Signature Light Club features the same classic fruit in slightly smaller shipments. Each delivery contains ripening instructions, recipes, and fun facts about that month’s fruit. For example, “Did you know that a Sumo Citrus® Mandarin is a cross between a Japanese Satsuma and a California orange?” See, fruit can be educational.

Just fruit clubs?

If, however, Aunt Linda is not a fruit lover, Harry & David also offers wine clubs, chocolate clubs, and plant clubs, as well as clubs from the entire 1-800-Flowers.com family of brands. There’s even a breakfast club from Wolferman’s Bakery and a popcorn Flavor-of-the-Month Club from The Popcorn Factory.

Now that you’re convinced a club is an ideal gift, you might be thinking, “Do I have to order for an entire year?” No! You choose how long. Twelve months is very generous, but other options are three-, six-, and nine-month durations.

Whichever club and duration you select, they’re a great way to get Aunt Linda’s favorite foods delivered right to her door. And feel free to order one for yourself to use for your own gastronomic adventures. The choice is yours!
