Enjoy a delicious Waldorf salad with a Southern Oregon twist, courtesy of Chef Tim Keller. This classic favorite was originally created in the 19th century on the East Coast, so we’ve made this apple salad recipe our own by adding some special Oregon-grown ingredients.

Waldorf Apple Salad

Ingredients:

For  dressing:

  • ¾ cup sour cream
  • 1 ½ tablespoons Southern Oregon honey
  • 1 tablespoon Dijon mustard
  • 1 teaspoon lemon juice (fresh squeezed )
  • 4 fresh mint leaves
  • Pinch salt and pepper

For salad:

  • 2 Harry & David apples (diced)
  • 1 cup celery stalks (diced)
  • ¼ cup toasted Oregon hazelnuts (lightly crushed)
  • ¼ cup fresh cranberries
  • 1 head of butter lettuce

Instructions: 

For dressing

  • Mix all the ingredients for the dressing together
  • Chill for at least 1 hour

For the salad

  • Prepare the ingredients for the salad
  • Mix in dressing
  • Garnish with butter lettuce and serve
