Strawberries

They’re red, ripe, and absolutely delicious. It’s strawberry season! This versatile fruit is prized for being naturally sweet and juicy and is a great source of vitamin C, manganese, fiber, and antioxidants. Strawberries are also fantastic when they’re dipped in chocolate, making them a perfect gift for special occasions like birthdays, anniversaries, and Mother’s Day. May 20 is National Pick Strawberries Day, but you can have your pick of premium strawberries at the Harry & David Country Village store. In the orchards

Our pear and peach trees have completed their bloom and it appears that the bees did a good job of pollinating this year. Our orchardists will be watching for fruit set and they are busy getting ready for irrigation season.

Harvest information:

Pears

Our Royal Verano® Pear gifts will be packed using Comice pears grown in Chile. Our other pear gifts may also include d’Anjou pears grown in Washington.

Stone Fruit

We will ship peaches grown in California for arrival just before Mother’s Day. We will ship cherries grown in California for arrival just before Memorial Day. We will ship tree-ripened mangos grown in Mexico all month.

Citrus

We are shipping Gold Nugget mandarin oranges grown in California. Our Triple Treat® gifts will include navel oranges grown in California.

Apples

We will be shipping Cosmic Crisp apples grown in Washington and EverCrisp and Ambrosia apples grown in Michigan.

Specialty Vegetables

Our featured vegetable for May baby Brussels sprouts grown in California. They are great for roasting and sautéing or shaving raw into a salad. We will also ship white asparagus grown in Peru, avocados grown in Mexico, and shiitake mushrooms and green tomatoes grown in California.
